Hello, Everyone talks about how excited they are for being pregnant, how in love they are with their unborn baby, let me just say this was not my experience at all. When I had my daughter suffered from postpartum depression, this period in my life was very difficult to me and for my spouse. After seeking help, I can finally say that I'm in a much better place and thanks to my moms group it lead me to create my own blog. I want to share my experience to all New Moms so that they don't suffer as much as I did or to be that voice that says "You are not alone". You will find me write about my life before I had my child, how my culture has impacted my decisions and maybe some humor/fun content. I will NOT suggest how you should take care of your child, I find it that everywhere you may go there is always someone who would like give you unsolicited advice on how to raise your child. This is a place of serenity and just expressing the true feelings of a new mom. - Sandra

The Perfect Date

On May 29, 2019 By Sandra Cruz2 Comments

When Jesse and I were dating we would see each other every weekend and we would go out dancing, have brunch or stay in and watch a movie. When I had Natalia, I understood that those spontaneous dates would be more difficult to have and instead we would have to plan our dates, which isn't …

Struggling to be understood

On March 5, 2019 By Sandra Cruz1 Comment

I sincerely believe that having a child is a test on your relationship with your significant other. Jesse and I have been through some difficult situations together, from moving in together to having our baby in less than a year. Not only were we getting used to living with each other but we were now …

Unfortunate Call

On February 13, 2019 By Sandra CruzLeave a comment

It was Sunday morning at around 9am when I received a call from my dad and I remember thinking, “Why is he calling me this early?”. I declined the call because I didn’t want him to wake up the baby and instead I texted him “What's going on?" He wrote: Your grandfather passed away, can …

I love you?

On January 24, 2019 By Sandra CruzLeave a comment

There’s finally peace and quiet in the house. I put baby girl down for a nap and I can finally enjoy some “me” time. No cooking, no cleaning, no doing laundry, just relaxing and watching an episode of the Real Housewives. Earlier, I was playing with Natalia and for a second I wanted to freeze …

Communication is Key

On January 14, 2019 By Sandra CruzLeave a comment

Being able to communicate with your partner seems to be easier said than done. How many times have my fights been the source of not speaking clearly with Jesse? or Assuming rather than asking? There have been situations where my emotions get the best of me and doesn’t allow me to see clearly. When I …

I’m Pregnant?

On October 23, 2018 By Sandra Cruz2 Comments

I always envision having kids in my mid-thirties, married and debt free. I didn’t think it would happen this soon. I went on a trip to México with my family and Jesse. We had a great time and the food was amazing! However, I noticed that I was feeling full and never really hungry. Before …

Things I wish I knew Post Pregnancy

On September 20, 2018 By Sandra Cruz2 Comments

When I was pregnant last year, I was that person that went to the bookstore and looked for those “what to expect when expecting” books; I just wish someone had told me what happens when you are done expecting. What is happening to my body? What’s with all of these hospital bills? When is it …

Where to begin…

On September 3, 2018 By Sandra CruzLeave a comment

It’s the Sunday before Labor Day and it’s actually not as hot as I thought it would be, considering that this is Texas. We spent the day at my in-law's house, they live out in the country where everything is very green, chickens are chasing after you and where the goat just stares at you …
